Property Highlights

It is hard to overstate this magical retreat with its natural beauty and privacy and its carefully considered development. The main cottage is surrounded by landscaped gardens with native flowers and shrubs, extensive decking, a propane bbq and a green egg smoker, ping pong table and a granite path that leads down a gentle slope to a large dock area with a screened cabana, a waterside sauna and a new cedar sided hot tub (2023) all of which enjoy afternoon sun and sunsets throughout the spring, summer and fall. The cottage is connected to the other buildings and look out points via a wide, natural walking path surrounded by large old trees and island dotted views. The path meanders along the one mile shoreline and through the middle of the island (much of it golf cart accessible) and with night lighting allowing quick transport to boathouses, beach and other buildings. In the centre of the island sits a regulation sized tennis court with basketball nets and a 600 square foot tennis pavilion atop a granite patio with outdoor seating. Turning right down the path from the tennis court a few hundred yards away sits the smaller one story boathouse behind a magnificent point with seating and sunset views. The 2 slip boathouse has an outdoor south facing lounge area. A short walk above the boathouse and point brings you to the 2 bedroom, west and south-west facing bunkie with green roof, outdoor shower, massive outdoor gathering area with sunsets, large outdoor fireplace and propane bbq. Turning left down the path from the tennis court is the movie or reading cabin. Adjacent is the 2 story boathouse, 2 slip boathouse with 3 outdoor balconies, outdoor seating areas and propane bbq. Past the boathouse a beautiful wood boardwalk circles another large private bay extending over stunning marshland and ending in a seating area with a natural sand beach. Beyond this lies a huge peninsula with raised granite point featuring elevated views south into the bay and west beyond it to the open lake and sunsets. Heading back to the large boathouse another turn takes you down the path through an older growth forest to the wilder upper half of the island which features higher elevations and seating areas. The path finally brings you back to the main cottage via a beautiful point of land and another large smooth rock bay extending out from the cottage which provides easy sheltered swimming. Excellent swimming is also available from many other points around the island with both shallow and deep water entry points and there are numerous all day sun spots and stunning sunset points to choose from.
